After winning the UK Partner Color category in Goldwell’s Color Zoom 2011 Challenge back in July, (if you didn’t see the news click here) the other week saw Lisa head off to Miami to compete against the cream of the crop from countries worldwide at the Global finals. And guess what, she’s only gone and won!

Lisa’s prize for sailing through to the finals of the Partner Color category included flights for two to Miami, four nights accommodation and two tickets to the finals, so she hopped onto a plane with Darren and jetted off to the States. Once they’d touched down on American turf, the pair went to the Global finals where Lisa had to style and colour a live model and, if that wasn’t enough, also recreate her award-winning look in front of a panel of judges.

And after beating off stiff competition from colourists around the world, Lisa was over the moon to be crowned Global Partner Colorist. This means that not only has she won herself a place on the International Color Zoom Creative team, but she’ll also get the chance to create the 2013 collection for Goldwell.

We’ve no doubt that Lisa celebrated in style in the States, but we couldn’t just leave it there, so we’ll be rolling out the red-carpet at the salon for the global star’s return!

Taking time out from the second series of the popular reality TV programme, which follows around a group of Essex born and breed ladies and gents in their everyday lives, Lydia enjoyed a full Jessica GELeration Three Week Manicure from Katrina. Our resident nail technician treated the A-lister’s nails to a soak, file, cuticle care and the nail colour, Lydia opted for ‘Venus Was Her Name’ – one of our favourite shades too!

After an hour, Lydia walked out of the salon with glossy, non-chip nails that will last for up to three weeks. We’re sure all her fellow case members will think they’re well reem!

The champagne corks were popping last night at haircare brand Goldwell’s Summer Party when news broke that Lisa had beaten off stiff competition to scoop the Partner Colorist title at their Color Zoom 2011 Challenge.

The competition, which aims to find the most creative colourists and trend specialists worldwide, saw Lisa sail through to the finals last month, alongside Becky who was nominated for New Talent Colorist with her first entry! Having won the prestigious Partner Colorist award Lisa has been chosen to represent the UK at the Global finals in Miami with a prize that includes flights for two, four nights accommodation and two tickets to the event.

When news broke of her win, Lisa was overjoyed saying: ‘It’s absolutely brilliant. I can’t believe that I’ve won and I couldn’t be happier’.

For the chance to win the title of Global Partner Colorist and become a member of the International Color Zoom Creative team who will create the 2013 collection for Goldwell, Lisa will now go up against finalists from around the world, by styling and colouring a live model, as well as recreating the look from her winning entry.

So, all we can do now is wait until October when Lisa will head off to the States and hope that she comes back clutching another award!

Featured twice in Stylist magazine of late, we were chuffed that the Beauty Director popped into the salon to test out our Jessica GELeration Three-Week Pedicure for their salon spy, saying it was the ‘perfect winter pedicure’ and ‘best foot massage I’ve had in ages’.  She was also treated to the ‘Typist’s Manicure’, featuring it as one of their ‘Three of the Best Hand-Healing Manicures’, great for you busy business ladies who’s tips need tacking after keyboard bashing!

Then it was over to Lisa who commented on what to take into account when you’re going in for a crop, for a feature in the Evening Standard where one of their lovely journalists went in for the chop. So, if you’re planning on sporting short styles this season, don’t forget to take a sneaky peak at her top tip!

You may of read in our last news update that we reached the finals of the Creative HEAD magazine’s Most Wanted Awards for Best Online Salon and we are over-the-moon to report that the Champagne and streamers were out again when we heard we’d been nominated for Website of the Year at the British Hairdressing Business Awards too!

Since re-launching our site in March, we’ve received an amazing response from you our clients about our new look and content, so to be recognised by two prestigious industry awards on top is overwhelming!

We’ll be waiting with bated breath for the finals in September, hoping to hear our names so we can bring home the coveted trophies to showcase in the salon for all to see!

We swapped our scissors for a bottle of bubbly this weekend, when the news came in that we’d reached the finals of hairdressing industry magazine Creative HEAD’s Most Wanted awards for Best Online Salon!

As you may know, we re-launched our site in March with a new look and fresh content, to give you an exciting and informative insight at our salon. The Most Wanted Best Online Salon award looks at the steps we’ve taken to make our website innovative, easy to use and of course the ways in which it benefits our lovely clients by allowing us to communicate with you in between visits! So we’re ecstatic that the judges loved our site as much as we (and we hope you) do!

We’ll now go onto the star-studded Grand Final on 6^th September presented by comedy genius Jimmy Carr, keeping our fingers crossed that we clinch the prestigious title!

This month we were thrilled to have one of the journalists from Stylebible.com, a website designed to ‘unearth hidden gems in style capitals’ along to the salon for a review.

The verdict has just gone up (click here) and we were touched by the amazing comments made. The journalist loved the layered, long bob Alan gave her describing him as ‘the nicest of hairdressers’ and saying she wanted to take him home with her to ‘do her hair forever’, plus praised nail technician Katrina for leaving her ‘hardworking nails’ totally transformed!

The Webster Whiteman team are truly chuffed that someone who reviews salons on a regular basis recommends ours so highly. The icing on the cake has to be her final line ‘If you are a regular visitor to top salons, then I reckon it’s time to switch [to Webster Whiteman]‘ and we hope that our upcoming reviews in Women’s Fitness and Noise magazines are just as flattering!
